Service Description
A Sidewalk Scientist or Astronomer will come to your school for an onsite program or field trip! Schedule multiple programs for a discounted rate. Discounted rates apply to any programs scheduled in the entire school and may be transferred between teachers. What's Involved: we begin with a 10 minute warm-up activity, then teach a 15-20 minute lesson about the subject. Following that, we will conduct a 30 minute activity or experiment highlighting the major concepts. Please let us know if there is a specific subject you would like us to cover. Activities and experiments will be grade-appropriate. We currently have 75 experiments that cover topics including: Math, Chemistry, Astronomy, Physics, Biology, Optics & Light, Music & Sound, Electricity & Magnetism, Paleontology, Engineering, Art, Anatomy, and Geology. If your class is longer than 60 minutes, we will provide an extended program for an additional 25% charge per 30 extra minutes. Stage Show Requests: please email info@sidewalksciencecenter.org with subject line "School Stage Show - [school name, county]" so we may directly discuss a program that best fits your request. First Stage Show is $200.00, all others scheduled during school year (August - May) are $150.00 each. Don't have specific dates yet? No problem! Preselect how many sessions you would like, pay a 50% advance deposit, and then schedule us whenever teachers at your school want us throughout the year. The remaining amount will be due upon 50% completion. For all programs: 50% deposit required upon confirmation. Final payment due after 50% completion of the series. Payment methods: card (preferred), PayPal, Venmo, and check payments. Deposit must be made or initiated within 7 days of invoice to guarantee your reservation date and time. 2024-25 Rates 1-2 programs: $150 each 3-9 programs: $125 each (16% savings) 10+ programs: $100 each (33% savings)
Cancellation Policy
Booking deposits are nonrefundable. If you cancel or reschedule your event less than 7 days before your event, you will be charged a $25.00 fee. If our educators reach out to change the date due to special circumstances (i.e. weather) you will not be charged any extra fee. In the event of inclement weather, our educators will contact you to discuss and reschedule the event free of charge. No shows are not refundable in any amount, and your event will be deprioritized from our schedule until we can fit you in.
